I got 2 boxes from Summit with parts to overhaul our motors.
Not what you want to see, the box was broken and something was leaking out from it.

Luckily nothing was missing or destroyed exept a small package of grease.

302 overhaul at last.

At last i have decided to do a overhaul of the motor for my Mustang.
Here it is together with my friends Chrysler 383 BB at the motor shop.

It will be a 0.30 overbore.

This is how my carb looked inside. No fuel filter and sand has somehow reached the carb, i have a new fuel tank. Now there is a fuel filter and the carb is cleaned.

Ingen rolig syn när jag öppnade förgasaren, sand har letat sig in trots att det sitter en ny tank på bilen. Har inte funnits nått bränslefilter, men det är monterat nu samt att förgasaren är rengjord.

The old steering cylinder was leaking so i installed a new. Also a new original fuel pump and new speedo cable installed.
Bytte styrcylinder då den gamla läckte som ett såll, har även bytt tillbaka till original bränslepump och installerat ny hastighetsmätare då den gamla såg rufflig ut efter bla. smält mot grenröret.

Bilen går för tillfället som en kratta därför kommer jag inte köra mer tills jag fått bukt med problemen,,,
Efter nubbe o sill blir det en hel del mekande för min del, börjar nog redan ikväll. Har tappat tomgången helt och troligvis är tomgångsmunstycket täppt. Har fått ett annat fenomen också, troligvis jordfel eller startmotorfel. Batteriet orkar inte dra runt start när den är varm, men vid kall motor inga problem. Hade tänkt göra vid dessa grejer i helgen. Byta ignitor, tändspole, tändkablar och tändstift, byta styrcylinder inkl. slangar, hastighetsmätarwire, bränslepump, nytt glas på rallyklockan pass. sidan. Även kika på förgasaren och se om det är täppt någonstans samt montera ett bränslefilter, vilket inte finns alls nu. Skall även kolla jordans. och prove en anna startmotor jag har liggandes.

I have some problems with my motor.

I think it is atleast 2 problems,,,,

1) I have lost idle, thinking that something happend with the carb (Holley). Maybe clogged idle needles in carb.
The motor stops when revs goes under 800 rpm. Also it feels like the motor missfire when cruisin, when i drive harder its no problem.

2) When the motor is cold its no problem to start, but when its hot the starter cant turn the motor, but if i use jumper cables its no problem.
I guess its maybe that the starter is bad or there is some grounding problems,,,or battery, but as i said when the motor is cold again its no problem to start without charging the battery.

It is a stock motor with points and a old coil, the plugs and wires not to god either i belive. The points and capacitor looks ok.
All of that im going to swap now. Going to install a Ignitor and new coil, wires and plugs. Im aware that i have to bridge over the rev gauge (12Volt).
This weekend im also going to swap speedo cable, fuel pump, steering cylinder and hoses. Install a fuel filter, there is non right now. Swap the rallye clock glas pass. side. I have a spare used starter im going to try and check all grounding.

The result of my overhaul of frontend. A 2 inch lower stans in front. Bad Ass.

Efter genom gång av framvagnen  med bl.a. översyn av bromsar nya stötdämpare samt en 2 tums sänkning fram blev resultatet så här. ;)
